Graves, Kolacek and Berry take top honors at fun shoot

Event generates cash for library

The El Progreso Club hosted its eighth-annual Fun Shoot in support of El Progreso Memorial Library on Saturday, March 30.

The event raised an estimated $9,000-$10,000 through entry fees, a prize drawing and a silent auction. An exact total is still being tallied.

Funds raised will benefit the diverse offering of programs at the library. El Progreso Club member Carolyn Bevis stated in a previous interview that the El Progreso Club hosts this event because “the club recognizes the need for the library, not just because of the books, but also for the services and events it brings to community.”

Participants were recognized in three divisions, including youth, adult and expert. Prizes were awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners.

In the youth division, first-place honors were given to Aaron Graves; second place, Nathan Boone; and third place , Briggs Shepard.

In the adult division, Michael Kolacek won first place and high overall; Browder Graves second place; Christian Fowler third place.
