The Uvalde Coyotes will be on the road tomorrow night to play the Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks.

Action is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Last month at Uvalde’s Marvin Kolinek Field, the Coyotes rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to chalk up a 7-5 victory over the Mavericks.

With two outs, Estevan Ortiz ripped a three-run triple to left center field.

Ortiz’s game-winning hit came after Andrew Maldonado was issued a bases-loaded walk.

Matt Sandoval led off with a single.

Diego Rodriguez and Ryan De La Cruz each walked, before Maldonado drew his walk.

In the first meeting between the Coyotes and Winn, Matt Sandoval led Uvalde’s hitting with a triple and two singles.

Andrew Maldonado tripled and singled, Estevan Ortiz doubled and singled, while Chris Rivera and Ryan De La Cruz each singled.

Coach Herberto Roiz’s Mavericks, 7-4 in district and 7-11-1 for the season, trounced the Southside Cardinals, 11-1, Tuesday night at Southside.

Last Friday, Winn downed the Floresville Tigers 8-3.

The Mavericks totaled 10 hits and capitalized on three Floresville errors.

Winn has won four of its last five district ball games, including a 3-2 eight-inning victory over Southwest and a 6-5 victory over Harlan.

Coach Sart Perez’s Coyotes, 9-3 in district and 12-9-1 for the season, defeated the San Antonio Harlan Hawks, 3-1, at Marvin Kolinek Field Tuesday.

The Coyotes broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning when Ryan De La Cruz scored from third base on a sacrifice fly by Matt Sandoval.

De La Cruz led off the inning with a double. He stole third base and later scored on Sandoval’s sacrifice fly.

Estevan Ortiz hit a run-scoring single in the sixth inning to up the Uvalde lead to 3-1.

The Coyotes scored three runs in the fifth inning to break open a scoreless tie.

They scored three times in the sixth inning and added a run in the seventh inning.

Down 7-0, the Dragons put on a seventh-inning comeback as they plated four runs, but their rally was too little and two late to make a difference in the outcome of the ball game.

The Coyotes totaled nine hits in the contest.

Matt Sandoval had a big night at the plate. He singled three times and drove in three runs.

Chris Rivera singled twice and drove in two runs, while Diego Rodriguez, Sart Perez, and Estevan Ortiz each singled and drove in one run.

Sart Perez pitched two innings in relief of Sandoval. Perez gave up four hits, walked three batters, and struck out two batters.

Southwest made two defensive errors, while the Coyotes played error-free baseball.

Following action tomorrow night, the Coyotes will be back home on Monday night to host the Somerset Bulldogs.
