Football practice for the Uvalde Coyotes will begin tomorrow afternoon at the Uvalde High School practice complex.
The first practice session of the 2019 pre-season for UHS varsity and junior varsity players will run from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Most of the high schools in the area began football practice this past week, but Coach R.T. Gonzales’ Coyotes will begin their workouts one week later because they participated in spring football workouts last May.
Under University Interscholastic League rules, Class 5A and Class 6A size high schools may conduct spring football or begin fall practice on the first week of August
Those who choose to participate in spring practices may not begin fall workouts until the second week of August.
Uvalde’s freshmen began practice this past week as they were not part of UHS’s spring football workouts in May.
Freshman football practice this week will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. from tomorrow through Friday.
