Uvaldeans prepare for bi-district tennis play

Next Monday, the Uvalde High School tennis team will be at San Antonio to play in bi-district team tennis competition.

Action at San Antonio’s John McFarlin Tennis Center will begin at 9:30 a.m.

UHS will play the number-four seeded playoff team from District 27-5A.

Coach Terri Rambie’s Uvaldeans will come into the bi-district match following two losses in non-district dual-match play last Saturday at Kerrville.

The Coyotes and the Lobos lost a 16-3 decision to the Kerrville Tivy Antlers and then lost a narrow 10-8 decision against Liberty Hill.

Against Tivy, Andrew Melchor and Ty Gonzalez beat Aaron Salinas and Alex Treen, 7-5 and 6-1, in the boys’ doubles number-one match.
