One district team remains in playoffs

Only one District 28-5A team remains in post-season baseball playoff action.

The Medina Valley Panthers topped the San Antonio Harlandale Indians, 8-7, in a single-game playoff for Class 5A Area-round playoff honors last Friday.

With the win, the Panthers, now 22-6 for the season, will face the Boerne Champion Chargers, 32-5 for the season, in regional quarter-final competition beginning today at 5 p.m. at Somerset.

The series will wind up Friday, starting at 5 p.m., at Somerset.

Two other 28-5A baseball teams and the Alamo Heights Mules were eliminated in playoff action last weekend.

Southwest’s Dragons lost a series, two games to one, to the Dripping Springs Tigers.

After losing in game one, 5-0, the Dragons evened the series with an 8-7 victory in game two.
