I am surprised to read about proposed changes to our time. The time from sunrise to sunset will be the same on a given day no matter how we set our clocks. Nevertheless, how we set our clocks usually dictates our schedule.
Changes to our schedule do have real implications. It seems everyone has forgotten that in 1974 during what was either called the Arab oil embargo or the energy crisis, it was decided that the USA would go on year-round daylight saving time. It was such a winner that this was promptly dropped.
I can only ask, “Why would we even consider doing this again?”
