New traffic lights at the intersection of the Raine Lane/Farm-to-Market Road 3447 and East Main Street will be operational on Wednesday.
The new signals began flashing on Thursday to warn motorists of the coming implementation.
“The flash mode period is done on new location signalized intersections to allow the traveling public time to become aware of the new signals,” said Laura Lopez with the Texas Department of Transportation. “Once seven days have passed in flash mode and necessary pavement markings are in place, the signal will be placed into full operation.”
Lopez said there is still some roadway work to be performed to complete this project.
“Approximately 500 feet of Raine Lane will receive a two inch mill and overlay to allow for reconfiguration of the pavement markings to align with the new traffic signal,” Lopez said.
