THURSDAY, APRIL 13

Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 762 N. Getty St., will host a Maundy Thursday service at 6 p.m.

FRIDAY, APRIL 14

Lotería will be played at Herby Ham Activity Center from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Prayer in the square will take place in the downtown plaza at noon.

Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 762 N. Getty St., will host a Good Friday worship service at 6 p.m.

Four Square Friday is set in downtown Uvalde from 6 to 9 p.m. Local businesses will stay open for late-night shopping, and there will be food, live music and art throughout the plaza

THURSDAY, APRIL 20

Downtown farmers market will be held in the downtown plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an array of homegrown vegetables, baked goods, and artisan goods offered by area merchants.

Thank Heaven for Herby, a fundraiser for the Herby Ham Activity Center, will begin at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include dinner, live and silent auctions, and entertainment. Tickets are $50 and are available in advance of the event.

FRIDAY, APRIL 21

Lotería will be played at Herby Ham Activity Center from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Wayne Everett will entertain listeners and dancers will his country music beginning at 7 p.m. at Herby Ham Activity Center. Admission is $7.50.

APRIL 21-22

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Uvalde County will begin at 7 p.m. on April 21 and end at 7 a.m. the next day. Relay For Life is a community event that honors cancer survivors, cancer patients and caregivers. Register to participate onling at www.relayforlife.org/uvaldetx. SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Uvalde County Historical Commission members will visit the San Lorenzo de la Santa Cruz Mission in Camp Wood. The public is invited. To carpool, meet in the El Progreso Memorial Library parking lot at 9:15 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Camp Wood, Jim Holder will present a program about the history and plans for the development and preservation of the mission. Following his presentation, the group will go to lunch and then visit the mission site.

Violinist Nathan Lafrenz and pianist Toni Hull will present a Civil War musical retrospective beginning at 7 p.m. at the Janey Slaughter Briscoe Grand Opera House. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. The event is a fundraiser for the Uvalde Hospice Foundation.

FRIDAY, APRIL 28

Game night and a pot luck supper – bring a dish to share – at Herby Ham Activity Center begins at 6 p.m. Dinner is first, games will follow.

SATURDAY, APRIL 29

Herby Ham Activity Center will host a flea market from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Booth spaces are available, $20-30 outside and $30 inside. FMI or to reserve space, call 830-591-2711.

Stargazing at Lost Maples will be led by the San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers from 8:30 p.m. until midnight. Visitors will meet in the overflow parking lot and learn about the dark sky and how to save the starry nights from light pollution. FMI, Shawn Green at 830-966-3413.
