Arturo Chavez, 60, of Uvalde died on Dec. 26, 2017, in San Antonio.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1957, in Toppenish, Washington to Maria (Gutierrez) and Jose Carbajal Chavez.
He was proceeded in death by his mother; one brother, Jose Chavez Jr.; and two sisters, Guadalupe Chavez and, Esperanza Chavez.
Chavez is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anna Maria Chavez; father; two sons, Arturo Guerrero Chavez Jr. and wife, Leslie, and Michael Guerrero Chavez, all of Uvalde; two brothers, Gilbert Chavez of Beeville and Ricardo Chavez of Uvalde; seven sisters, Dionecia Chavez-Lara and husband, Carlos, of Portales, New Mexico, Rebecca Chavez and Elisa Chavez, both of San Antonio, Linda Chavez, Amelia Chavez, and Christina Rios and husband, Jesus, all of Uvalde, Rosaelia Chavez-Alvarado and husband, John Antonio, of El Paso; two grandchildren, Roslynne Chavez and Andrew Wesley Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
Cremation was under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
