Wilson’s photography on display at El Progreso

In the spotlight, this month for the artist of the month gallery at El Progreso Memorial Library is digital photographer KayDawn Wilson.

She’s a graduate of Uvalde High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Texas in San Antonio.

Wilson says she doesn’t consider herself a professional, and that photography is more of something that she’s just always done.

“I was the one always taking pictures in the family,” Wilson said with a smile. Her installation includes photographs taken while traveling in locations such as Amsterdam, Italy, and Ireland.

Until recently, Wilson lived and worked in London, where her office view was of Windsor Castle. A picture of the view on a snowy day is part of the installation on display.
