UYRC hosts second points night

Rankin McMillian finished first in four different events to wind up as one of the top competitors in the Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club’s second point-night competition of the season.

Vying in the Uvalde County Arena at the Fairplex last Tuesday, McMillian captured top honors in the seven-year-olds and under age division of the cloverleafs barrels, straight barrels, pole bending, and goat-slapping competition.

Chase Santos placed first in three events, Kiley Dean, Madison Santos, Jayvee McDaniel, and Tres Colvin took first place in two events, while Fernando Carbajel, Sage Everett, Brayson McMillian, Klacey Dean, Carly Rae Colvin, Willie Garcia, Faith Edwards, Katrina Besa, Mattie Elder, and Cooper Wernette won first place in one event.

The next points night competition is scheduled for July 16.

No UYRC action is scheduled for Tuesday,

On July 9, the UYRC will host a practice night.

Complete results from Tuesdays competition were as follows:

Cloverleaf barrels, 7-year-olds and under age division: 1. Rankin McMillian, 21.039 seconds; 2. Kippie Hefley, 23.563; 3. Tres Korczynski, 29.167; 4. Atlee Korczynski, 29.632; 5. Hanna Shafer, 29.865; 6. Ella Evans, 31.102.

Straight barrels, 7-year-olds and under age division: 1. Rankin McMillian, 10.668 seconds; 2. Atlee Korczynski, 13.262; 3. Tres Korczynski, 14.781; 4. Lief Rankins, 15.881; 5. Ella Evans, 15.899; 6. Kippie Hefley, 18.781.
