First-round matches of the 72nd annual Uvalde Fourth of July Golf Tournament will get underway tomorrow at Uvalde Memorial Golf Course.
Action in the three-day match-play tournament will continue through Sunday.
Today is an optional practice round of golf for those tourney golfers who wish to participate.
Uvaldean Clayton King is the defending tournament champion.
He won the championship flight of the tournament as he defeated Concan’s Parker Ray, six and four, in the title match.
King advanced to the championship match by defeating Cody Cruz and Bert Aguilar in preliminary tourney matches.
Ray downed Edward Treviño and Johnny Cruz in preliminary matches to gain his berth in the championship match.
Treviño topped Cruz in the match for third place. That match went 18 holes before being completed.
