Utopia resident’s art collection on display at library

Michael Earney, 81, of Utopia, has a collection of his paintings on display at El Progreso Memorial Library for the month of August.

A world traveler, Earney was born in London and grew up in southern England. He moved to the United States as a young man in 1960, where he has lived in various states. He has lived in Texas for over 20 years.

His experience in the arts is wide and varied. He first worked as a ceramics artist and teacher in England in the 1950s. He later transitioned to documentary film-making.
