UHS prepares for season opener

Coyotes play Eagles in Honey Bowl Friday

The start of the Texas high school football regular season is here.

Next Friday night in the Honey Bowl, the Uvalde Coyotes will host the Eagle Pass Eagles.

Tomorrow, Coach R.T. Gonzales’ Coyotes will begin to make preparations for their season opener.

“We are excited about getting the season started,” said Gonzales. “Our practice times and preparation this week will be the same as they were last week. The only real difference this week is that we are preparing for an actual game and not a scrimmage.”

The Coyotes will enter play Friday following scrimmages against the Del Rio Rams and the Hondo Owls.

Coach Gonzales was pleased by his team’s overall performance Thursday against Hondo.
