Uvalde High School will host the district wrestling meet scheduled tomorrow.
Five schools, including UHS, will vie in the event, and four wrestling mats will be used for the district competition.
Action will get underway at 10 a.m. in UHS’s Harvey Kinchlow Gym.
The top-finishing wrestlers in district competition will advance to regional action scheduled for Feb. 15-16 at Austin’s Delco Activity Center.
State wrestling competition is scheduled for Feb. 22-23 in the Berry Center at Cypress.
Representing the Coyotes in their respective weight classes of the district meet will include: Arlin Padilla, 106-pound class; Reynaldo Perez, 120-pound class; Charles Causey, 126-pound class; Dominique Quiroz, 132-pound class; Bobby Gomez, 145-pound class; Andrew Thompson, 152-pound class; George Willemin, 170-pound class; Isiah Castillo, 195-pound class; and Samuel Lara, 285-pound class.
Those who will represent the Lobos in their respective weight divisions of the district meet will be: Karyssa Davila, 102-pound class; Adelyhda Perez, 138-pound class; and Abigail Ligocky, 148-pound class.
Three UHS wrestlers placed second in their divisions of the recent Arlington Bowie Invitational wrestling meet.
Adelyhda Perez won four out of her five matches. She lost in the finals.
Karyssa Davila won three of her four matches. She lost in the finals.
Dominique Quiroz won three out of his four matches. He lost in the finals.
Reynaldo Perez, who won four out of his five matches, won third place.
Andrew Thompson placed fourth in his weight class. He won three out of his five matches in the meet.
Bobby Gomez, Jesse Robles, George Willemin, and Julius Luna each competed for UHS in the meet, but they did not place.
Gomez won one of his three matches in the wrestling meet.
