UHS grad Rahaman returns as physician

Uvalde Family Practice Association and Uvalde Memorial Hospital have announced Dr. Andrew M. Rahaman, M.D., will be joining the medical staff in August.

Rahaman will enter Uvalde Family Practice Association where he will practice family medicine. He will be joining medical director Dr. Lawerence P. Wegrzyn, M.D. and Dr. Cherie L. Hauptmeier, D.O., along with nurse practitioners Lauren Rothe, Kimberly VanDalen and Jane Champion.

“Dr. Rahaman is going to be a great addition to our team. I am so impressed with his medical knowledge and his commitment to patient care,” stated Dr. Wegrzyn.

Rahaman was born a Yankee and raised a Texan, and he’s called Uvalde home since the early 1990s. He graduated from Uvalde High School in 2003, and received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science at Texas A&M University in College Station in 2007.
