A standing-room-only crowd of over 500 attended the awards program April 26 for the 37th-annual Southwest Texas Junior College creative arts contest.
Mark Underwood, vice president of academic affairs, welcomed contest winners and guests in the Matthews Student Center Ballroom.
SWTJC vice president of administrative services Derek Sandoval was the master of ceremonies at the annual ceremony, which recognizes the artistic, and writing talents of students and community members from across the college’s 11-county service area.
Overall winners for the pre-K and kindergarten division were Davis Osina in visual arts and Katalina Miranda in literary.
First and second grades: Aarav Punalekar in visual arts and Donald Humberto Iler in literary.
