If you’ve fought and beat cancer, you have a story to tell. Organizers of Uvalde County Relay for Life want to hear your testimony during the survivors’ dinner planned Thursday, April 12.

The dinner will be held at First United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., at 6 p.m. To register for the dinner visit relayforlife.com/uvalde or call event organizer Jennifer Potter at 830-486-2558.

The 2018 relay event is set April 20 at 6 p.m. through April 21 at 6 a.m. at the Uvalde County Fairplex. The theme for the event is “Give cancer the boot.”

This year, due to a shortage of staff partners at the American Cancer Society, the Uvalde County Relay for Life event will be a do-it-yourself task. Volunteers have been solely responsible for booking the venue, obtaining sponsorships, advertising and organization. In addition, the group will also be responsible for setting up, cleaning up and hosting a wrap-up dinner.
