Colleen Casburn, 17, recent graduate of Sabinal High School, will be going on the trip of a lifetime next month. Along with 26 other high school and college students, she will be flying out of San Antonio to Cebu, Philippines, on July 8. She will return July 16.

Casburn is taking part in what Samaritan’s Purse has called a “vision trip,” an eight-day outreach program designed for students and young adults.

Of the opportunity, Casburn said, “It kind of gives us a chance to do something good in the world.”

The outreach will center around the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program, where volunteers donate shoeboxes filled with toys and other goodies to give to children in impoverished areas. Those on the vision trip will be able to distribute these boxes.

The other parts of her trip include ministry to children and presenting the gospel to nationals through outreach events.
