Rainfall varies from 3.44 to 15 inches

Some motorists were a little too eager to float the rivers last weekend.

First responders did not have to perform any high-water rescues as pouring rains continued, but Uvalde Police issued seven citations and multiple warnings to drivers who disregarded barricades and drove into standing water.

Additionally, at least two vehicles, including an 18-wheeler that was captured on video, attempted to cross roads inundated with rushing water in Uvalde County

Uvalde has received 3.44 inches of rain since Saturday while surrounding areas received up to 15 inches. This caused rivers and creeks to swell and resulted in the closing of multiple roads within the city and county.
