For the month of July, the El Progreso Memorial Library is exhibiting a collection of digital photographs by Uvalde resident Jennifer Fry, who has been taking photos for over 20 years. Fry is the library’s featured artist of the month.
With a penchant for photography and travel, Fry captures the nuances of natural life in her artwork, such as shadows, light, reflections and the movement of water. The display is a culmination of the last eight years of her photographs.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Fry considers the Texas Hill Country one of her favorite subject matters to photograph because of its scenery.
“Texas is my home state and it will always be my home,” she said. “So, part of the appeal of taking photos in Texas is that it just happens to be where I am, but it also has such a sense of beauty and nature.”
