Night out brings together public, law enforcement

Local and area residents celebrated National Night Out on Tuesday, when events were held in Uvalde and Sabinal.

The event, which was held to bring awareness about various law enforcement agencies, was deemed a success by organizers, which included the Uvalde Police Department and the Sabinal Police Department.

During the Uvalde event, which took place in the H-E-B Store parking lot, community members turned out for a activities that included a performance by the Sahawe Dancers. The store gave out refreshments as well.

The police department also visited four block parties held at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Uvalde Health Care and Rehabilitation, El Cenizo Apartments, Brownstone Apartments and El Progreso Memorial Library.
