New district for non-football sports

Next school year, Uvalde High School will face some new district opponents for non-football sports.

UHS’s new district for non-football sports is District 28-5A.

While the Coyotes and Lobos will continue to play current district teams Eagle Pass Winn, Floresville, and Southside, UHS’s new district for non-football sports will include San Antonio Harlan, Southwest Legacy, Southwest, Medina Valley, and Somerset.

Harlan and Legacy will play varsity sports for the first time ever.

John M. Harlan High School opened last school year and is the 11th high school in the San Antonio Northside ISD.

Harlan High School is located at 14350 Culebra Road, a couple of miles down the road from Taft High School.

The school has approximately 1,963 students.

Harlan’s school colors are Columbia blue, black, and silver.
