Man robbed at gunpoint

Friend, others ambush 18-year-old seeking shotgun

Three adults and three juveniles have been linked to a series of area burglaries after the group allegedly robbed an 18-year-old man at gunpoint. The victim was deceived into meeting the group to purchase a shotgun.

All six individuals are charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.

The three juveniles, whose ages range from 14 to 16 years old, were detained and taken to juvenile detention centers in Del Rio or Jourdanton.

Jesse Mendiola, 17, Willy Sanchez, 18, and Gabriel Damon Romero, 20, were booked into the Uvalde County Jail. Mendiola resides at 220 Bohme St.; Sanchez, 827 S. Camp; and Romero, 224 Bohme St.

The incident occurred Tuesday at 9:31 p.m., when Uvalde Police were dispatched to Templo Cristiano, 219 N. Park St., in reference to a male who was robbed.
