Alamo Heights visits for bi-district soccer
The Uvalde Lobos will face their biggest challenge of the 2019 high school soccer season when they host the Alamo Heights Mules in bi-district soccer competition tomorrow night.
Playoff action between the Lobos and the Mules will get underway at 7:30 p.m. at the Uvalde High School soccer field.
Alamo Heights, 19-2-2 for the season, completed their District 27-5A campaign with a perfect 14-0 record last Friday night as they trounced the San Antonio Brackenridge Lady Eagles, 5-0, at Alamo Heights.
Junior midfielder Sophia Connelly recorded her 45th goal of the season as she scored one of the five goals for the Mules against Brackenridge.
Senior forward Abby Wagner and junior defensive specialist Jolie Press each scored one goal, while senior midfielder Alexis Guerrero scored two goals.
Wagner made one assist, while freshman goal keeper Hannah Simpson posted a shutout.
The Mules totally dominated play in their soccer district this season.
Not only did the Mules go undefeated in 14 matches, but they outscored their opponents by a total of 109 goals to two.
