Lobos play Somerset tomorrow

The Uvalde Lobos will be on the road tomorrow to face the Somerset Lady Bulldogs in a key District 28-5A girls’ soccer match.

Varsity action is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., while the junior varsity teams will do battle starting at 5 p.m.

Last month in Uvalde, the Lobos defeated Somerset, 7-0, in their first district meeting against the Lady Bulldogs.

Coach Keith Pendleton’s Lobos, 5-7-1 in district and 9-10-1 for the season, will enter play against Somerset tomorrow in pursuit of the Floresville Jaguars in the race for the final post-season playoff spot.

Going into action tomorrow, the Lobos trail Floresville by one and one-half games in the district standings.

Floresville, 6-5-1 in district and 8-8-1 for the season, will host the Southside Lady Cardinals.

Earlier this season, the Jaguars topped the Cardinals in a 1-0 thriller played at Southside.
