Lobos play Harlan girls tomorrow

Tomorrow night, the Uvalde Lobos will host the district-leading San Antonio Harlan Lady Hawks in basketball competition.

Varsity action in Harvey Kinchlow Gym is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Coach Terry Barton’s Lady Hawks, 11-0 in district play and 24-5 for the season, will enter action tomorrow riding a 19-game district winning streak.

Their last district loss came in a 41-36 road decision against the Eagle Pass Winn last season.

Tuesday night at Harlan, the Lady Hawks crushed the Southside Lady Cardinals in a 70-22 blowout.

Layla Conley netted 17 points to lead Harlan’s individual scoring.

Back in late December, Harlan defeated the Lobos, 80-36, in a district contest played at San Antonio.

Fourteen different players got into the scoring column for Harlan, including guard Kastyn Young, a 5-foot-10 freshman, who scored 14 points to lead the scoring for the Hawks.

Gabby Victorino and A’Taisha Carroll led Uvalde’s scoring with 13 points and 10 points, respectively.

Violet Gomez recorded four points, Rayleigh Watson netted three points, while Sarrah Luna, Klarissa Sonora, and Desirae Garcia each contributed two points.
