UHS girls seek to avenge loss
With the stretch run of the District 28-5A soccer race coming up, the Uvalde Lobos need a few more wins to keep their hopes of a post-season playoff berth alive.
Friday night, Coach Keith Pendleton’s Lobos, 4-5 in district and 8-8 for the season overall, were to play the Southwest Legacy Lady Titans in road action.
The Lobos were looking to bounce back from a rough 7-0 loss to the Medina Valley Panthers on a cold, wet night at the Uvalde High School soccer field last Tuesday.
Medina Valley, Harlan, and Southwest appear to have the top three playoff spots in 28-5A locked up, but the Lobos and Floresville still have a shot at the fourth and final playoff spot.
Those two teams will collide in what could be a key match on March 12 at the UHS soccer field.
But before then, the Lobos have matches against Southwest, Harlan, Eagle Pass Winn, and Somerset.
