Tonight, the Uvalde Lobos will begin post-season softball competition.
They will host the San Antonio Highlands Owls for game one of a best-of-three, bi-district softball playoff series.
Action at the Uvalde High School softball field will get underway at 7 p.m.
Game two of the series is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow at the San Antonio Independent School District Spring Sports Complex located near Burbank High School.
If needed, game three of the playoff series will be played, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the SAISD sports complex.
“I wanted a series and the Highlands coach wanted one game. We won the coin flip to gain a series. They won the flip of the coin to gain the home field for game two and possibly game three,” said Uvalde High School head softball coach Kristina Finger.
“We are really happy to be moving into the playoffs. Our Lobos are peaking at just the right time, after overcoming so many obstacles this season,” said Finger. “It should be a great series for our fans to come out and support our Lobos.”
Coach Finger’s Lobos, 16-10 for the season, topped the Hondo Owls, 10-3, in a warm-up game for the playoffs Monday night at Hondo.
