Lobos beat Legacy, host Harlan

Tomorrow night in Uvalde High School’s Harvey Kinchlow Gym, the Uvalde Lobos will host the district-leading San Antonio Harlan Hawks in 28-5A volleyball action.

The varsity match is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will be preceded by sub-varsity competition at 5 p.m.

UHS seniors will be honored on Seniors Night as they will be introduced along with their parents during special ceremonies prior to the varsity match.

Coach Russell McElroy’s Lobos, 4-7 in district and 9-26 for the season, made it a three-game sweep in their win over the San Antonio Legacy Lady Titans last Saturday morning.

The Uvaldeans bested Legacy by scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 26-24.

In the opening game of the match, the Lobos built up an 11-5 lead behind the hitting of Shyann Dockal, Shelby Colvin, Nadia Gonzalez, and Kylie Sendejo.

Later in the game, Morgan Kenney hit for a couple of UHS points and Kylie Sendejo scored on a shot down the Legacy sideline.
