Gregory shares message of hope at expo

Jennifer Fry

Staff writer

Rebekah Gregory, guest speaker for the fifth-annual women’s health expo put on by Uvalde Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, held her audience’s attention through a tender retelling of her experience with tragedy and witty reminders to be thankful for the things we have.

Gregory is a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 and later, due to her injuries, became an amputee. She still has hundreds of pieces of shrapnel lodged in her body, a circumstance which still causes medical concern.

Since that time, she has become an inspirational speaker, traveling all over the country to share her testimony and message of hope.
