The once-beloved stage curtains from the Janey Slaughter Briscoe Grand Opera House have gained new life. The red and black velvet curtains, which hung in the opera house from 1982 to 2017, were salvaged by the Uvalde Good Eggs, LLC, and turned into 16-inch square pillows.
Each pillow, whether black or rust-colored, will have a velvet image of the opera house dragon emblazoned on the front. The pillows are being sold by the organization for $95 each, the proceeds of which will benefit the Good Eggs general fund.
