Charley Robinson

Staff writer

The Uvalde Coyote football program has produced several college football players recently. Drew Kirkpatrick (Louisiana Tech), Migel Garcia (University of Maine), and Corbin Cargil (Colorado School of Mines) are preparing for the 2019 collegiate season.

All three athletes were coached by former Uvalde High School athletic director Gary Mac Griffin.

Kirkpatrick began his post-high school play at Blinn Junior College but is currently a red-shirt senior at Louisiana Tech in Ruston.

Garcia spent a couple of seasons at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. He is beginning his second and senior year at the University of Maine in Orono.

Cargil is a red-shirt senior at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. This is one of the top engineering schools in the nation.
