Facade grants offset improvement costs

Application period ongoing

Uvalde Main Street and Uvalde Convention and Visitors Bureau hope business owners within the Uvalde Main Street district will take advantage of several facade grants that have been made available.

The Uvalde Main Street Facade Improvement Grant program is set up to reimburse property owners, and in some cases tenants, after work is completed. Grant funds are matched 50/50 against private reinvestment. The program is offering a total of $10,000 in grants for 2019.

“We will take applications until there is no more money left in the fund,” noted Main Street Manager Susan Rios.

Maximum possible payout for an individual grant is $5,000. Grant applications ranging from $50 to $5,000 are available for paint-only projects, signage and awning projects, facade rehabilitations or full restoration projects.
