Coyotes play Somerset Tuesday

The Uvalde Coyotes will play their first home basketball game of 2020 on Tuesday when they host the Somerset Bulldogs.

Action in the varsity game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Harvey Kinchlow Gym.

Prior to that game, the Uvalde and Somerset junior varsity teams will play at 5 p.m., while in Oscar Cruz Gym, the freshman teams will do battle at 5 p.m.

Coach Bryan Penna’s Bulldogs, 2-1 in district play and 9-4 for the season overall, will enter play against the Coyotes on Tuesday coming off Friday night action against the Southside Cardinals.

Results from the Somerset-Southside game were not available at presstime.

The Bulldogs went into the game riding a two-game district winning streak.

Somerset topped the Floresville Tigers in a 70-65 thriller.

Down by a score of 50-45 at the end of the third period, the Bulldogs went on a 25-point scoring spree in the fourth period to win the ball game.
