The Uvalde Coyotes will play their final home basketball game of the season Tuesday night when they host the Floresville Tigers.
Tip-off time for the District 28-5A varsity game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Harvey Kinchlow Gym.
Preceding the varsity game will be a junior varsity game at 5 p.m., while the freshman teams will do battle beginning at 5 p.m. in Oscar Cruz Gym.
In the first district varsity matchup between Uvalde and Floresville, the Tigers posted a 74-50 victory over the Coyotes in action at Floresville.
The Tigers got off to a big start against the Coyotes as they racked up 29 points in the first period.
Down 29-12, the Coyotes pretty much matched the Tigers point for point the rest of the way, but the Uvaldeans were unable to overcome that 17-point, first-period scoring deficit.
Senior Carlos Hernandez, a 5-foot-9 guard, and junior Dominic Davila, 6-foot-5, 270-pound post, combined efforts to score 63 percent of Floresville’s 74 points.
Hernandez recorded 26 points, while Davila posted 21 points.
