Tomorrow night in the Honey Bowl, the Uvalde Coyotes will take on the San Antonio Kennedy Rockets in District 14-5A Division II football.
Kick-off time for the Uvalde High School 2019 homecoming game is set for 7:30 p.m.
For the Coyotes, the game is a must-win contest as they need a win to stay in contention for a post-season playoff spot.
“It’s our homecoming game and we want to win the game for what should be a large UHS homecoming crowd in the Honey Bowl. But more importantly, we need to win to give ourselves a shot at making the playoffs,” said UHS head football coach R.T. Gonzales.
“We need to win against Kennedy here this Friday night and against Lockhart on the road next Friday night to have a shot at claiming the final post-season playoff spot,” said Gonzales.
Kennedy’s Rockets will be seeking their first win of the season tomorrow.
Coach Ben Benavides’ Rockets, 0-5 in district and 0-8 for the season, will enter play against the Coyotes coming off a 45-0 loss against the Lockhart Lions last Friday night at San Antonio.
Though the Rockets are winless for the season, Coach Gonzales says that the Coyotes will not be taking Kennedy lightly.
