Tomorrow night at Kerrville, the Uvalde Coyotes will face their toughest opponent of the season as they play the defending district champion Tivy Antlers.
Kick-off time for the District 14-5A Division II football game in Antler Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.
Coach David Jones’ Antlers, 2-0 in district play and 4-1 for the season, enter play in Tivy High School’s 2019 homecoming game riding a four-game winning streak.
Their lone loss came in a 14-13 setback against the Dripping Springs Tigers in their season opener.
Tivy has won 16 district football games in a row.
The Antlers are the defending district champions.
They were the pre-season pick to repeat as district champions and currently are locked in a two-way tie with the Lockhart Lions for first place in the district standings.
“The Antlers have tremendous ball club,” said Uvalde High School head football coach R.T. Gonzales.
“They are talented, experienced, and well-coached,” said Gonzales. “Tivy is solid and fundamentally sound offensively, defensively, and in their special teams.”
