The Uvalde Coyotes will complete their 2018 football season tomorrow night when they host the Lockhart Lions.
Kick-off time for the District 14-5A Division contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Both the Coyotes and the Lions have been eliminated from post-season playoff contention.
The winner of the game tomorrow will wind up fifth in the district standings.
Coach Brian Herman’s Lions, 2-4 in district play and 4-5 for the season, lost to the district-leading Kerrville Tivy Antlers in a 62-48 thriller played at Lockhart last Friday.
Speedy running back Daequan Ellison, a 5-foot-4, 135-pound senior, had a career night against Tivy. He rushed for 444 yards and five touchdowns.
Ellison scored on touchdown runs of 75, 82, 70, 75, and 47 yards in the first half. He totaled 359 yards on his first 10 carries.
“Ellison has good vision and great speed. He is elusive and difficult to tackle,” said Uvalde High School head football coach R.T. Gonzales. “He had a huge night against a good Tivy defensive unit last Friday.”
One week earlier, Daequan Ellison rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns in Lockhart’s 63-0 win over Kennedy.
