Coyotes begin second half of season

UHS hosts Medina Valley in hoops action

The Uvalde Coyotes will begin the second half of their District 28-5A basketball season Tuesday when they host the Medina Valley Panthers.

Tip-off time for the varsity game in Uvalde High School’s Harvey Kinchlow Gym is set for 6:30 p.m.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the junior varsity teams will square off in Kinchlow Gym, while the freshman teams will do battle in UHS’s Oscar Cruz Gym.

Last month at Castroville, Medina Valley topped the Coyotes, 66-32, in the district opener.

Estevan Ortiz topped the scoring for the Coyotes with 12 points.

Others scoring were D’Andre Carroll with six points; Eric Flores, Donovan Davila, and Christian Rivera with three points each; Jackson Taylor and Angel Flores each with two points; and Majik De La Garza with one point.
