The Uvalde Coyotes will complete the first full week of high school football practice with morning practices tomorrow and Saturday.
Coach R.T. Gonzales’ varsity and junior varsity Coyotes went through their first day of practice Monday afternoon.
Gonzales was pleased by the performance of the Coyotes on their first day of practice.
“I am extremely proud of the way the Coyotes came out on day one. This was the best performance we have had for a first day,” said Gonzales.
“The retention of information was great,” said Gonzales. “We hope to build on this great starting point. If we can maintain this level of energy, focus, and this mentality, we will be on track to accomplish what we set out to do this season.
“It was a great first day. The kids were flying around and they did the three things we ask every day, including to be the most excited team, to be the best version of themselves, and to be the best teammate,” said Gonzales. “This team is full of coaches and players who are fired up and hungry to play with a purpose this football season.”
Today, the Coyotes are scheduled to practice from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Tomorrow, the Coyotes will practice from 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., while Saturday their practice session will go from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
