CHDI has new chief dental officer

A self-described “doer,” Community Health Development Inc.’s new chief dental officer Kristine Hynes says her favorite part about her new position is that she gets to interact with people from different disciplines.

“I get to work in collaboration with many different people,” said Hynes.

Some of her goals include focusing on efficiency by making sure patients are receiving the best possible options for treatment. She also hopes to increase the center’s community outreach.

Hynes has worked with CHDI since November of 2018 as a staff dentist and was promoted to the new position earlier in September.

In her new position, she still sees patients four days-a-week and has one day for dedicated administration time.

Although she’s originally from South Texas, Hynes has spent the last few years working in Durango, Colorado, as a director of a dental clinic for a federally qualified health center.

Prior to that, she worked in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps as a dentist
