Brewers top Red Sox for the title

The First State Bank Brewers held off a sixth-inning comeback bid by the O.V. Casey Plumbing Red Sox and posted a 13-9 victory in the Uvalde Little League Major Division baseball championship game last Friday night.

Down by nine runs, the Red Sox scored five times in the sixth inning, but it was not enough to overcome the scoring deficit.

The Sox got off to a 3-0 lead in the top half of the first inning.

One run scored as the result of an infield single by Cody Briseño and one run scored on a ground out by Frank Ledesma.

The Brewers rallied to take the scoring lead with four runs in the bottom half of the first inning.

Aidynn Barboza had the big hit of the inning. He hit a chopping ground ball that bounced over the reach of the shortstop and into left field.
