Uvaldeans run in first meet Saturday

Members of the Uvalde High School cross-country team tomorrow will begin to make final preparations for their first running meet of the season.

Saturday, Coach Libby Guzman’s varsity Lobos and Coyotes will be at Laredo to compete in the Border Olympics cross-country meet.

The competition will be staged at Lake Casa Blanca Golf Course.

Following nearly two weeks of practice, Coach Guzman will name her varsity team and junior varsity team tomorrow.

Guzman has approximately 25 runners who have been working out since the start of practice on Aug. 1.

“Things have been going well in our workouts for the coming season,” said Coach Guzman.
