Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club hosts first points night tomorrow

The Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club (UYRC) will host its first points-night competition of the 2017 summer rodeo season tomorrow night at the Uvalde County Fairplex Arena.

Events will include lead-line competition, cloverleaf barrels, straight barrels, poles, goat tying, team roping, breakaway roping, tie-down roping and ribbon roping.

Activities will get underway at 6:30 p.m.

Registration for youth rodeo participants will run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Other UYRC points nights in 2017 will be held on June 26, July 10, and July 24.

Other practice nights are set for June 19 and July 17.

Because of the district horse show, there will be no UYRC activities scheduled for June 12.

The UYRC’s Rodeo is set to be conducted on Aug. 11-12.

Jimmy Chapoy is the president of the rodeo club this year.
