Uvalde will host 7-on-7 football competition and a lineman’s challenge Saturday at the Uvalde High School practice complex.
The football action at the complex location at 750 N. Camp St. will get underway at 9 a.m.
Some of the schools scheduled to participate in the event include Carrizo Springs, Crystal City and La Pryor.
Other area schools that would like to join the Saturday competition should contact the UHS athletic dept. at 830-591-4991.
There will be no admission price for sports fans who would like to attend the Saturday event.

Teams joining Uvalde teams for the football competition were to include Carrizo Springs, Crystal City, Eagle Pass Winn, Del Rio Blue, Del Rio White and La Pryor.
Besides 7-on-7 competition, UHS football players are participating in the summer UHS strength and conditioning program.
Fall workouts for the Uvalde High School varsity and junior varsity football players will commence on Aug. 12.
On Aug. 1, there will be a meeting for the players and parents of UHS football players in John H. Harrell Auditorium.
Because UHS participated in spring football workouts last month, UHS will have only one scrimmage opponent prior to the start of the 2019 regular season.
UHS will host the Hondo Owls in scrimmage action set for Aug. 22 in the Honey Bowl.
The Coyotes will kick off their 2019 varsity regular-season football schedule on Thursday, Aug. 29, when they take on the Class 6A Eagle Pass Eagles at Cozel Foster Veterans Memorial Stadium in Eagle Pass.
That game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The season opener will mark the first of two Thursday night games for the Coyotes.
Uvalde will face the Boerne Champion Chargers in a Thursday night District 14-5A Division II contest on Oct. 24 at Boerne.
That football game will be televised by San Antonio Channel 35 KMYS as part of their Thursday Night Lights program.
On Sept 6., the Coyotes will make their home debut when they host the Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks in the Honey bowl.
Kick-off time for that game is set for 7:30 p.m.
Other home games for the Coyotes in 2019 will include: Southwest, Sept. 13; Alamo Heights, Sept. 27; Medina Valley, Oct. 18; and Kennedy, Nov. 1.
The other road games for the Coyotes include: Memorial, Sept. 20; Kerrville Tivy, Oct. 11; and Lockhart, Nov. 8.
