Uvalde High School runners compete in Seguin Saturday

Uvalde High School cross-country runners will travel to Seguin Saturday morning to participate in the Texas Lutheran University Invitational.

The starting times are as follows: varsity boys’ race, 9 a.m.; junior varsity boys’ race, 9:30 a.m.; varsity girls’ race, 10 a.m.; junior varsity girls’ race, 10:20 a.m.; boys’ middle school race, 10:45 a.m,; and girls’ middle school race, 11:10 a.m.

Coach Libby Guzman’s Lobos and Coyotes will enter action coming off of competition in the Southwest Texas Junior College Invitational last Saturday.

The Lobos placed second in the large school girls varsity division of the meet with 30 points.

Kayden Carrasco, Esmy Garcia and Michelle Hernandez placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, with times of 23:15, 23:17, and 24:11.

Alex Nolasco was the eighth runner to finish the race. Her time was 25:15.

Brisa Rodriguez finished 10th with a time of 25:29.
