The Uvalde Lobos captured first-place honors in the team standings of the Devine High School Invitational golf tournament played last Monday.
Led by the play of Macey Fowler and Sofia White, the Lobos posted a team score of 412 to finish 36 strokes ahead of the runner-up host Devine Arabians, who totaled 448 strokes.
Fowler and White tied for second place in the individual competition. They both posted a round of 98.
Using a scorecard tie-breaker, Fowler claimed the runner-up spot over White.
Hondo’s Mallory Mathews shot a round of 76 to win medalist honors.
Nayeli Silva posted a score of 101 and Vada Willis recorded a 115 to round out the scoring for Uvalde High School.
Somerset placed third in the team standings with a 458 score, while Carrizo Springs wound up fourth with a 486 total.
