Uvalde girls record soccer shutout

The Uvalde Lobos beat the Southwest Lady Dragons, 1-0, in District 28-5A soccer action last Friday.

In one of the most physical soccer matches of the season, thus far, the Lobos scored their lone goal on a shot by Arissa Perez with 17 minutes left in the second half.

Abby Kone assisted on Perez’s game-winning goal.

Goal keeper Addison Pendleton posted a shutout. She totaled six defensive saves.

Pendleton was assisted by the play of UHS defensive specialists Jeslynn Vara, Briana Crow Jacqueline Cardenas, and Alexis Silva.

Coach Keith Pendleton’s Lobos, 2-1 in district and 4-7-1 for the season overall, will face the Eagle Pass CC Winn Lady Mavericks in district soccer competition at the Uvalde High School soccer field tomorrow.
