The Uvalde Lobos placed fifth out of the 25 teams competing in the Somerset High School Powerlifting meet last Saturday.
They totaled 15 points.
Andriah Treviño captured top honors in the 259-pound weight division. Her total lift was 780 pounds, including 320 pounds in the squat, 150 pounds in the bench press, and 310 pounds in the deadlift.
Jocelyn Bustamante won second place in the 181.5-pound weight division with her total lift of 900 pounds.
Bustamante’s total of 900 pounds is her personal best total of the season.
She squatted 360 pounds, benched 200 pounds, and deadlifted 340 pounds.
Amanda Aguilar claimed runner-up honors in the 114.5-pound division with a total lift of 655 pounds.
Amber Gonzales and Kelsay Garcia won third place. Gonzales lifted a total of 535 pounds in the 123.5-pound division.
Garcia hoisted a total of 790 pounds in the 165.5-pound division. That total put her over the total needed to qualify for regional competition.
Priscilla Alvarez placed fifth in the 148.5-pound division with her total lift of 695 pounds.
